Course Length: 32 weeks Venue: Workplace Day / Time: Flexible Start Date: Flexible Entry Requirements There are no formal requirements but candidates need to be an experienced, practising middle manager who is able to demonstrate both theoretical and practical competence in the workplace to a national standard in key areas.
A personal skill scan conducted by our staff, will ensure that your current job role lends itself to the demands of the National Standards at the preferred level.
Description
Management NVQ level 4 is delivered wholly in the workplace. You will be allocated a personal Assessor and supplied with all the required reading and assessment materials. Your Assessor will provide you with 24 hours of personal tutorial support and assessment at pre-arranged times. Assessment is through a variety of methods including observation in the workplace, witness testimonies, product evidence and professional discussions. Course Content Candidates will need to complete five mandatory units and three optional units (from a choice of 16) in order to achieve the full qualification

Method of Assessment
Assessment is by production of a personal portfolio demonstrating understanding and application of the NVQ 4 National Standards.
Progression
Successful completion of the course can lead to entry to NVQ 5 in Management or Level 5 Postgraduate Diploma in Management.

The NVQ in Management is aimed at those who are responsible for the control of activities and work output of a team at middle and senior manager level.

NVQ QUALIFICATION
To achieve the full , candidates must complete mandatory and optional units, selected in consultation with your assessor. The training is optional: you can attend any or none of the days, according to your work role and your business needs. Assessment is required to complete the qualification, consisting of: Induction in your workplace Introduction to the course and NVQs Assessment in your workplace Portfolio building in your workplace

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care |

The NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social care will provide you with a nationally recognised qualification which relates directly to your area of work. You will develop your skills in caring for people and achieve certification relevant to your own area of practice.Course Outline Day 1:Induction/ Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals Day 2: Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working environment Day 3: Promote effective communication for and about individuals Day 4: Reflect on and develop your practice
How will I learn?
You will attend 4 x 3 hour workshops. Students will also be expected to do 6–10 hours home study per week. Students will also be expected to arrange 2-4 direct observations within their work place with a work based assessor.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal qualifications required, but students need to be working in the care sector for a minimum of 15 hours per week and have some level of responsibility in their job role. It is advisable to have the support of your employer..
How long does the programme last?
This is a part time programme over nine months. Students will study 8 units, 4 mandatory and 4 optional.
How will I be assessed?
There are no written exams; the candidate will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence which includes both performance and knowledge evidence.
What if I need support?
One Spare Chair provides a safe and up-to-date working environment with many sources of information available in resource-based learning centres. We will provide additional learning support as you need it and discuss your progress through tutorials.
What can I do with this qualification?
Further Study: Students may wish to progress onto higher education such as HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4 or a foundation degree in the care sector
A Career: This course is designed for the development of supervisory care staff, including senior care workers or key workers who work in nursing, residential or community care settings in the public, private or voluntary care sector. This qualification is recognised by the U.K.C.C. as one of the entry criteria for nursing.
